Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow: Mall of America Field buckles under pressure (video caption contest)

Ladies and gentlemen, what we have here… is a video caption contest.  Our first ever.

And please, enough of the “God Must be a Brett Favre fan so he gave him an extra day of rest” jokes.

As a Florida resident, I don’t feel sorry for Minnesotans who choose to live in their state while I sit here freezing in 40 degree weather.

But I do feel for those who suffered in any way during the incident you’re about to witness.

For those who don’t know, Sunday’s Giants-Vikings game was first, unofficially postponed when the Giants’ flight to Minneapolis was delayed, then later officially rescheduled when the Metrodome’s roof collapsed due to inclement weather.

And you thought YOUR team needed a new stadium.

The winner of this particular caption contest will receive a snowball in the face from yours truly and very possibly, a thank you text from Brett Favre himself.

Just be careful not to open it around the kids.

  1. Let’s just go ahead and get this one out of the way, shall we?

The Mall of America Field has been suspended for the remainder of the season for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

  2. NBA season Chris and nothing is as it seems .

Stripper Poles Or NBA Polls ………… Which Gets Your Direction And Immediate Attention ?

I’ve never been one to really put much store in polls unless it’s pole that’s actually being adorned by an exotic dancer . Needless to say that with the NBA __ season now in full swing and but a quarter of the way through already some fans out there are already putting up their polls as to who they believe are the best in the league given the teams’ records. That may well be all well and good but anything can be read into a poll given the amount of information stated at the time. To my mind we don’t really know much about the teams until we are at least a third of the way through the season. But realistically we can as such say that a number of teams are merely now there only to make up the numbers . Click here to read …………. on

  3. I don’t know, Al. That was a pretty neat trick.

Latest Frazier says Favre’s doubtful tonight. I guess we’ll just see at game time.

Oh wait, no we won’t. The game’s not being televised.

  4. You can definitely say that, Aer, although if you look at the standings, at 5-7, I don’t know that they’re officially eliminated yet.

How ridiculous would it be if they still sneaked in? Keep in mind, Aaron Rodgrers is now concussed.

Speaking of playoff teams, how ’bout them Bucs!

  5. I’ll be over to check out your NBA piece in a bit, Al.

I will say this about the season though.

If you recall at the beginning of the season, I said reading any NBA previews was pretty much pointless since only three teams could win a title, those being Miami, Boston and Los Angeles.

I still think Orlando has an outside chance (Jameer Nelson was out for half that losing streak) and there have been the usual cast of characters (Spurs, Jazz, Mavs) that show us they’re better than expected.

But it’s early still, we know those teams will fade come May/June. I don’t back down from my earlier statement about the season.

  6. Clean up on aisle 35!

At least now we’ll have a game in Detroit with TWO NFL teams involved!

They should have used Wrangler denim for the roof fabric.

  7. If they get into the playoffs with all of the injuries they’ve suffered then Raheem deserves Coach of the Year.
Ronde was right. Thank God they’re not playing 18 games this year. They wouldn’t have anyone left.

  8. Chris

What night isn’t Favre doubtful ? I mean with ever increasing regularity he appears on the injury list of the NFL. If he were a race horse he’d have been put out of his misery by now ! I know that euthanasia isn’t encouraged in the NFL but in the case of Favre can’t they make an exception ?

Much love to Jenn Sterger !

Sterger may well have something to say about that ‘streak’ of Favre’s ? LOL,LOL,LOL !!!

As for Frazier do you believe that he’ll retained as the coach ?

And speaking of coaches with Rah’s gig being up at the end of the season in terms of his contract the Bucs had better be ready to up their offer to him . $2.5 million when he could easily go out and double that given that it’s being rumored that he’s being eyed by several GM’s around the league with a view to interviewing him for their respective upcoming vacancies.

  10. Vikes’ owner Zygi Wilf has just seen his ambitions and the team’s season fall apart. So much for him getting that new stadium he so desires . Truth be known he could always share the Gophers Stadium where the college team plays its games.

Tavaris Jackson’s NFL career will now come to an abrupt end . He’s now become persona-non-grata within the state of Minnesota .

This video & song I’ve devoted to the players on the Vikings’ team. It’s Aretha Franklin’s I Say A Little Prayer’ Click on link to view.

    I Say A Little Prayer

C’mon now sing along with me the lyrics ’cause I do believe it best describes the team !

    The moment I wake up
Before I put on my makeup
I say a little prayer for you
    While combing my hair, now,
And wondering what dress to wear, now,
I say a little prayer for you

Forever, forever, you’ll stay in my heart
    and I will love you
Forever, forever, we never will part
    Oh, how I’ll love you
Together, together, that’s how it must be
    To live without you
Would only be heartbreak for me.

I run for the bus, dear,
While riding I think of us, dear,
I say a little prayer for you.
At work I just take time
And all through my coffee break-time,
I say a little prayer for you.

Forever, forever, you’ll stay in my heart
    and I will love you
Forever, forever we never will part
    Oh, how I’ll love you
Together, together, that’s how it must be
    To live without you
Would only be heartbreak for me.

    My darling believe me,
For me there is no one
    But you.

I can see it now Brett and the boys putting on their makeup for getting their asses beatdown as they have done for much of the season ! LOL,LOL,LOL !!!

Pretenders , Contenders , Airbenders And A Slop of Crap That Now Makes Up The NFL

I don’t know what I found to be more embarrassing over the past few days with regard to the rather idiotic prognostications that were made by players as it regarded their teams and the fans out there parading their hearts on their sleeves with the most asinine of prognosis for a number of NFL games that took place over the weekend . Anyone who witnessed the game between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles may well have felt that the Eagles were on their way to what would have been deemed a sure fire win and perhaps making light work of their divisional rivals . Suffice to say an Eagles’ fan wrote on his blog site that it was his belief that the team would manhandle and put a ‘four spot’ (40 pts) on the Cowboys’ beleaguered defense . At times I tend to ask myself what these individuals are either watching or for that matter taking ? Or click here to read on …………..

Another loss by the Magic is there really any hope of this team doing something in the postseason ?

  13. One thing’s for sure, Al.

At least we can all put the damn streak behind us.

What I imagine Minnesota will do with Frazier is have a sit-down when the season’s over and see if they’re all on the same page.

If so, then he’s their man. If not, I imagine they’ll shop around for one of the big names that’s out there.

Personally, I don’t expect much from this team any time soon.

Unless, of course, Brett Favre decides to play again next year.

  14. As much as Aretha can belt it out, Al, I’m more of a fan of the Dionne Warwick version.

And I don’t only say that because she’s a psychic and can see everything we’re doing right now.

  15. Al…

I’ll be over to check out your latest and yes, Orlando lost another one, but it was on the road to a playoff team.

As much as I root for the Magic, I was actually getting some pleasure from watching Carmelo just use up Vince Carter last night.

    That was tremendous.
