“Summer lovin’, had me a blast. Summer lovin’, happened so fast.”
-John Travolta as Danny Zuko in Grease
This is a BIG week for NBA trade rumor geeks such as myself. This summer’s list of free agents is a veritable who’s who of NBA all-stars.
With the free agency deadline clock ticking rapidly, I’m going to get right to it. We’ve all heard the rumors. We just don’t know what to believe.
That’s where you come in.
Your challenge should you choose to accept it is to predict where each of the top free agents will land. Good luck with that, right? The winner of this particular prize will receive a fabulous SportsChump prize pack to show off to their friends and neighbors.
Here are your free agents from which to choose. For the sake of simplicity, I’m only going with the most high-profile players. There are several others looking to land a huge payday but we’ll just keep it simple with the ten I have listed below.
In the comments section, tell me your projected landing spots for each of the following free agents. Should they stay or should they go now? As your tie-breaker, I need you to list, in millions of dollars, the most lucrative contract one of these ten will sign. The person who guesses the most landing spots correctly wins the prize and the right to call themselves NBA Free Agency Guru.
Good luck!

Crazy day yesterday. Some predictable, KD&Kyrie, some total shockers D’lo to GS….But the only one I give a shit about is still out there…..
C’mon Kawhi!
Yeah, Bleed, the D Russell thing to Golden State was not on my radar at all either. Will he be coming off the bench? Does that mean Klay moves to the three?
That small ball will become interesting. We’ll see how Kerr plays it.
Yea, not too shocked that Boogie’s still out there unsigned. And for the record, the longer it takes for a team to sign Kawhi, the better I think your chances are. Those three in L.A. will be wild!
Kinda funny that Magic can’t attend the meetings though.
I would guess Klay slides to the 3 and D’lo becomes the 2. It may rain 3’s, but Draymond can’t stop everyone. Their defense took a hit in losing KD and Iggy. Klays’ solid defensively but coming off injury doesn’t help. Besides, he won’t even see the floor until Feb or March. They still haven’t re-signed Looney or Cousins yet either. Either way, they took a step back.
Utah and Portland…Wow. Legit threats now.
Philly and Boston seem like lateral moves to me.
Magic had phone conversations with Kawhi and his uncle yesterday. HE may get yet another assist. Clippers officially out of the sweepstakes as of 15 minutes ago from what I’m reading.
Two horse race now. I like our chances.
Bleed…
I guess with Klay out for a while, the signing makes sense. They’re gonna need another body or two to get them some minutes. If these Finals proved anything, they’re not a deep team.
I know Horford in Utah would have been a fish out of water but I really wanted to see him land there. I thought that would have been a nice fit and made them a solid team.
From everything I’m hearing, Kawhi’s announcement is just a formality. Buena suerte!
