Preview for Queen Elizabeth Day at Randwick this Saturday

When Saturday arrives, you’ll be in for some wonderful horse racing events taking place Down Under. Four Group 1 races will be occurring on a very rich card at Randwick in Sydney, Australia. They will be headlined by the AUD$2 million Queen Elizabeth II Stakes, and there some hints and tips to take notice of before opting to place bets on the races. So, why not take a look at what’s in store and place a few of your own bets?

Fortunately, if you’re not a member of an online sportsbook, then we can recommend that you take advantage of the Ladbrokes promo code when signing up to the Ladbrokes platform. This allows you to go through your initial deposit of at least €5 and receive an extra bonus on top of up to €20. Imagine the extra bets you could place on the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes with those additional funds in your account.

Because Australia is in a completely different time zone to most of the world, it could potentially be exceptionally early in the morning where you are when things take place. At 5:30am BST, the Group 1 Australian Oaks race will begin, with two key form lines coming into it. Those are the Vinery Stud Stakes and the Adrian Knox. It was a fortnight ago that Shout the Bar and Probabeel battled it out to the finish line at Rosehill for the Group 1 Vinery. The former of those horses won by a neck and with both competing on Saturday, it could come to a neck and neck race again.

Other Races Happening on Saturday

At 6:15am BST, the Group 1 Sydney Cup is taking place, which runs over two miles. The victor of this event could be one of three familiar names. Mustajeer was the one who claimed the Ebor last summer, while Raheen House makes up another prospective winner of the event. He would gain a first win in Australia over 1m5f last weekend. And finally, Young Rascal has its own staying power, winning prep over 1m4f last time out.

Then at 6:55am BST, the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes will occur and there’s a likelihood that UK fans will be up and out of bed early enough to cheer Addeybb and Tom Marquand on to victory. The winner of it will receive just over £1 million, so it’s quite the event. Addeybb claimed a Group 1 victory in the Ranvet Stakes, and the second Verry Elleegant – who also re-opposes in this race – has upped her game, too. Yet, both will have competition from Japanese entrant Danon Premium.

Last of all, the 7:35am BST Group 1 Coolmore Legacy race will occur, and this one is where Funstar hopes to claim a bit of pride back. Only managing fourth in the Vinery Stud Stakes last time out, she now stands a chance of redemption provided her run two weeks ago hasn’t left any issues. Nettoyer is another one to keep an eye on, having turned out quickly since her brave win in the Doncaster Mile last Saturday. It’s also a good race for Alizee and Positive Peace to compete in, upping the game level overall.
