The Olympic games are now fast approaching, with just a few months remaining and there is no doubting the anticipation that is building, as this has now been really long in the waiting. This is following the event being postponed from last year and moved to the current one, alongside many other major events around the world. There had even been calls for this to be cancelled altogether but it now appears that it is finally taking place.
The US appear to have a very strong squad heading over to Japan and will be hoping for lots of medal success in track and field. The talent coming out of Oregon University is also incredible and many of them could yet make the team and head over. The Oregon online gambling markets will likely be busy if this does happen, with much support coming in for the athletes. This includes the likes of Cole Hocker, who really has been a revelation this campaign. Alongside Cooper Teare, the pair are strong contenders to make the Olympic team from the University, with Teare having smashed the NCAA record earlier this year, with a stunning mile time of 3:50 flat.
There are also many other markets set to open up, which is likely to lead to further backing of US athletes, with many heading in with a favourites chance of picking up victories. The first is Noah Lyles, who is heading in with strong prospects of potentially emulating Usain Bolt in winning the 100m, 200m and 4x100m at the upcoming games. He is the next real sprinting talent for the US and heads in as the reigning world 200m champion. With Christian Coleman also suspended for the games, he goes in as the favourite and it will be fascinating to see whether he can pick up a number of medals.
The other is the Gymnastics star in Simone Biles, whose last all-around defeat came back in 2013 and she also became the first women to win back to back titles at Olympics since 1968. She also won five golds at the last Olympics and is also for many, the greatest Gymnast in history. She will again be heading into the Olympics as the overwhelming favourite and is set to take the world of beating and there is no doubting it would come as a major shock were she to be beaten and should bring in a number of gold medals for the US.
