What a barnburner of Thursday night game we witnessed!
What made it even more exciting is that I cashed TWO separate bets on both the Rams AND Seahawks to win when, of course, only the Seahawks did.
How does this happen, you ask? Allow me to explain.
I don’t recommend trying this at home, UNLESS… a) you’re paying close enough attention to monitor your wagers in real time, which you should since you’re betting your hard-earned money and b) you feel that the team down large can mount a comeback. In today’s NFL, why wouldn’t you?
Out to dinner with my lady after a hearty day of Christmas shopping, we caught the first half of the Rams-Seahawks game at a nearby restaurant. With both teams boasting lofty 11-3 records, there was a lot at stake, including a divisional title and a potential first round bye. Thinking this one could go either way, I refrained from placing action on the outcome prior to the game, waiting for a more opportune time to strike.
With the Seahawks leading by a touchdown early, I was impressed with the way the Rams were moving the football. At plus money, I placed a small wager on them to win.
For three quarters, it looked like my initial wager would hit. The Rams continued to control tempo for most of the game, leading by as much as 16 points in the fourth quarter. With 13:34 left in the game, the Rams led 30-14.
This, my friends, is when you can catch gambling apps with their pants down, assuming your service allows live wagering. But you must act quickly if you trust your gut and foresee a potential comeback. I especially like doing this when the live underdog is the home team.
In this year’s NFL, with parity what it is, any team can put up points on a whim, especially in a heated rivalry like Rams-Seahawks. Also, I’ve never met an 11 to 1 wager I didn’t like so I placed a tiny wager on the Seahawks to come back and win.
When one team is losing by a fair amount, services have no choice but to leave a nice fat money line to balance out the number of sharps live betting on the favorite.
As I anticipated, the Seahawks led a charge that included the most bizarre two-point conversion you’ll ever see, where Seattle’s Zach Charbonnet happened to pick up a live ball after what was eventually ruled a backwards pass. Tie ball game.
But that’s beside the point.
At several points in both the fourth quarter and overtime, the Hard Rock offered me opportunities to cash out both wagers. I declined.

In overtime, the Rams did what they do. Stafford completed a 41-yard touchdown pass to Puca Nacua to take the lead a 37-30 lead. The Seattle crowd was deflated. It was at this point that Hard Rock, mathematically assuming the game was over, offered me another cash out option on my initial wager, not for the entire amount but close to it.
Since I had dueling bets on both teams to win, I cashed out my “Rams to Win” wager at 90 cents on the dollar with the hopes that the Seahawks would give it one last shot. Four down territory the entire time, the crowd suddenly behind them, I liked my chances. If they scored and won, I’d hit both wagers. If they scored and tied, I’d lose both. Cashing out the initial bet for the number they offered made perfect sense.
Well, wouldn’t you know it? The Seahawks drove downfield, scored a touchdown, and with so much on the line, decided to go for two, which they converted.
Boom!
Both wagers hit! My initial bet on the Rams to win that I already cashed, PLUS the live underdog bet on Seattle at 11 to 1.

Despite one team celebrating in the end, this is how you can cash wagers on both teams to win! You just need to pay very close attention and have faith in your gut along with a quick trigger finger.
So, friends, I implore you. Only do this when you have a wager on the team to win AND when you feel frisky enough to hedge your wager on the live dog making a comeback. Like hitting a middle, only do it when the numbers make sense. Gambling services do everything possible to protect their interests but there are moments when they’re vulnerable.
You just need to be shrewd enough to find them.
